About Paintball Loaders
If you're planning on playing paintball, you'll of course need to have a way to feed the paintballs. The traditional feeding system is simply gravity. A shell with a large capacity that allows paintballs to fall into the breach by themselves. It works great for pump and mechanical markers, but try to use one on an electronic marker and you'll be cleaning paint out of your gun for hours.
The next type of loader is called an agitated loader. They rely on a spinning central arm to move the paintballs around and ease their passage into the gun's breach. This is more than enough for pump and mechanical guns, but may not be enough for sustained high rates of fire.
To be truly effective at high rates of fire, one must use a force-feed loader. This loader uses a mechanism that literally grabs the paintball and forces it into the breach. Like agitated loaders, force-feed loaders use several batteries as power, but in most cases they allow the user to adjust the loader's feed rate, activation sensitivity, and more.
